Troy Brown, the man charged with committing 10 robberies last November by threatening his victims with a screwdriver, heads to court today for trial.

Jury selection for Brown's trial in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas begins this morning, and opening arguments will take place in the afternoon.

Eight of the robberies Brown allegedly committed occurred in the University City area, and two of the victims were affiliated with Penn.

The two victims affiliated with the University are expected to testify at the trial, which will likely last until at least Wednesday, Assistant District Attorney Brian Zarello said.

In a pre-trial hearing yesterday, a judge denied motions to suppress statements made by Brown and to exclude videotape from the police investigation.
