Last Monday, the DP hosted its final Open Forum of the semester. A number of you mentioned that you followed our extensive coverage of the University's announcement of its $3.5 billion capital campaign, as well as its plans for eastward expansion. After Thanksgiving break, we'll begin coverage of the trial of Rafael Robb.
All whites are racist. At least that's the message that a recently discontinued University of Delaware residential-hall program had disseminated to over 7,000 of its students. As part of a "diversity training" program that students participated in during orientation, freshmen attended training sessions, floor meetings and one-on-one meetings with their Resident Assistants. (3 )
'Everyone's a little bit racist," according to a song from the Broadway musical Avenue Q. The recently terminated Whole New World diversity training program at the University of Delaware told 7,000 dorm residents otherwise. The program came under scrutiny after students complained that they were pressured into accepting politically slanted views on sensitive topics including race. (4 )
