During its first meeting after fall break, the Undergraduate Assembly had a full plate of issues to discuss last Sunday night.

Among other issues, the UA discussed the College Republicans' and Muslim Student Association's awareness weeks, the student-unfriendly rates for the Radian apartments and potentially free printing for students.

n In Open Forum, Wharton sophomore and UA member Ankit Dhir said it was the UA's role to "at least discuss" that some student groups may find former Sen. Rick Santorum controversial. Santorum is speaking tomorrow night as part of Terrorism Awareness Week.

Members ultimately agreed that even controversial speakers should be allowed to come to campus.

n Engineering sophomore and UA member Aaron Goodman is in talks with SEPTA about improving security and providing student discount passes at SEPTA stations.

n College freshman and UA member Leila Decker is working with Toshiba to bring free printing to students around campus, following examples set by Harvard and Princeton universities.

n College junior Lisa Zhu, co-chairwoman of the Facilities Committee, said that she "does not have an answer" as to why prices are so high on apartments at Radian since it's a private development," but that rent was "supposed to be at market value."

Zhu also said Radian developers were in talks with various food retailers, including Chipotle Mexican grill.

n The UA discussed general airport shuttles, including a price raise from $3 to $5, a capacity increase and whether the UA should continue financial support of this service.
